Terms of Use

By creating an account on Transcritor you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the service.
1. What the service does
Transcritor converts audio and video files into text using automatic speech recognition. Results are available as plain text, subtitles (.srt and .vtt), Markdown and JSON.
Automatic transcription makes mistakes. Accuracy varies with recording quality, accent, background noise and overlapping speech. The service is provided as is, with no warranty of accuracy. Do not rely on the output without human review in any situation where an error could have legal, medical or financial consequences.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older. Registration details must be truthful, and your password is your responsibility. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
Every new account receives 15 trial minutes, released when the email is confirmed. The trial is one per person: creating repeated accounts to stack free minutes is grounds for terminating access.
3. Credits and payment
- Credits are bought in packs of minutes and never expire.
- Usage is counted by the second, based on the length of the uploaded file. A 3min20s recording uses exactly 3min20s.
- Credit is debited when the file enters the queue. If transcription fails on our side, the credit is returned automatically.
- Prices are in Brazilian reais and may change. Changes never affect credit already purchased.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We have no access to your card details.
4. Withdrawal and refunds
Consumers in the European Union have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. By starting to use the credits within that period you ask us to begin performance immediately and accept that the refund is limited to the unused portion.
Consumers in Brazil have a 7-day right of regret under art. 49 of the Consumer Defence Code, on the same terms.

5. What you may not upload
You confirm you have the right to transcribe whatever you upload. You may not use the service for:
- material obtained through unlawful recording, or where recording required consent you do not have;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright;
- child abuse material, incitement to violence, or any illegal content;
- attempts to overload, break into, or circumvent the technical limits of the system.
Where the material you upload contains other people's personal data, you are the controller of that data and we act as your processor, following your instructions and the privacy policy.
6. Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of what you upload and of the text produced. We do not use your content to train models, do not sell it, and do not show it to anyone. Technical access by our team happens only when strictly necessary to fix a fault, and is logged.
Media files are deleted 7 days after upload. The text stays in your account until you delete it.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance happens, and the queue can take longer at peak times. Accounts that have purchased credits are served with priority in the queue.
8. Termination
You can delete your account whenever you want, on My data. Unused credits are not refunded in cash when you close the account outside the withdrawal period.
We may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Where credit remains unused and there is no fraud, we refund it proportionally.
9. Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited, in any case, to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event. We are not liable for lost profits or indirect damage arising from transcription errors. Nothing here removes rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be limited by contract.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Consumers in the European Union keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their own country and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of their place of residence.
